It’s the latest (and most adorable) example of the Country Music Hall of Fame member making someone’s day on the video-based app.
Travis’ videos also show him surprise Kane Brown (as he performs “Three Wooden Crosses”) and Drew Parker (“Fool’s Love Affair”) on separate occasions and spend time with like-minded country singer and Bible believer Josh Turner as he sings “Forever and Ever, Amen.”
Songwriter and recording artist Alexandra Kay often sings in her videos while making mixed drinks. In one instance, she belted out “Deeper Than the Holler” while crafting a tasty-looking adult beverage.
Kay had her mind blown by Travis’ visual stamp of approval.
“You have been such an inspiration to me!,” she wrote. “Thank you for doing this! You are a legend!”
Travis suffered a debilitating stroke in July of 2013, effectively ending his run as a Nashville superstar. Nowadays, the 61 year old supports new music by frequently attending shows (or at least that was the case before COVID-19) and, as it turns out, joining the TikTok generation.
The Country Music Hall of Famer’s first No. 1 single (a reissue of 1985’s “On the Other Hand”) and his debut album as a mainstream recording artist (Storms of Life) both turn 35 in 2021.
