While an alter ego usually gives someone the chance to infuse a little mischief into their life, Hank Williams flipped that idea on its head with Luke the Drifter. Known for his hard-drinking and carousing lifestyle, Williams gave himself the pseudonym as an alternate identity that was wholesome and tempered. While Hank went about his hard-living life, Luke became known for his gospel songs and good deeds.
