Betty Lynn was 95-years-old when she passed away in Mount Airy, North Carolina, the hometown of actor Andy Griffith that served as inspiration for the fictional town of Mayberry. She never married or had children, instead devoting her life to the fans of the television show that made her a household name. Up until two years ago, Lynn made regular appearances at the Andy Griffith Show museum where she interacted with fans, took photos and signed autographs.
