Brown, green, blue, grey and everything in between: everyone’s eyes are a different colour. They’re all beautiful and unique, whether you have bright blue eyes or mysterious brown ones. Your eye colour makes you unique! If you ask a random person what they find attractive in someone else, there’s about a nine out of ten chance they’ll say: the eyes.

It seems logical, of course, because they’re one of the first things you notice about someone. Plus, your eyes can often betray what you’re thinking. Sorrow shows in the eyes, just like anger and joy. It turns out, your eyes don’t just say something about your feelings, but also about your personality! Research by a Swedish university has shown that the gene responsible for what colour your eyes are is the same gene that forms the frontal lobes in your brain. Dr Anthony Fallone from the University of Edinburgh says: “The eye is so closely linked neurologically to the brain that you might call it the only part of our brain you can see from the outside.” So, what does your eye colour say about you? People with brown eyes are born leaders. They might not realise it themselves, but the rest of the world does see them like that. These people radiate more confidence than most other people. If your eyes are darker, that means there’s more melanin in your skin and body, which is linked to the ability to think fast.
