​Vince Gill gives update on Amy Grant’s recovery, says ‘best thing’ for her is to ‘just be still’

On July 27, Grant was cycling near a golf course with a friend when she hit a pothole, Grant’s representative Velvet Kelm confirmed to USA TODAY. She wore a bicycling helmet at the time of the accident.

First responders transported the bestselling “Heart In Motion” singer to Vanderbilt Medical Center, where she spent two nights as doctors treated Grant for injuries sustained in the accident.

The accident forced Grant to postpone the shows on her fall tour, which have been rescheduled for early 2023, according to an August statement from Grant’s management team. She hopes to return to the road in November for a holiday tour with Michael W. Smith.
