Naomi Judd passed away April 30, 2022, at her home in Leiper’s Fork, Tennessee, after a decades-long battle with mental illness.
In her first interview since her mother’s death, Wynonna shared her feelings about continuing with the Judds tour without her mom.
“I think it’s important to do it,” Wynonna said of the tour. “I feel like I have my marching orders.”
The singer fought back tears as she anticipated what it would be like to take the stage without Naomi. “As I walk out on stage that first night, I’ll probably say something like, ‘It’s not supposed to be like this.’ Because it’s not, right? It’s supposed to be the two of us. And I’m gonna be angry because she’s not there.”
