Crystal Gayle came on the country music scene very quietly in 1970 with her debut single called “I’ve Cried The Blue (Right Out Of My Eyes)” on the Decca label. A good record, but it didn’t make much noise, peaking at #23 on Billboard’s Hot Country Singles chart. Still, it made a number of people inquisitive enough to try to find out who this young beauty with the bluesy voice was.
