Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani got married on July 3, 2021. The intimate ceremony was held in Oklahoma and was officiated by Voice host Carson Daly.
The couple had been dating since late 2015, when they were both serving as coaches on The Voice.
Stefani recently stopped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show and spoke about her and Shelton’s wedding. She said they originally thought about having a larger gathering, but the guest list became smaller due to everything going on in the world.
“I had this fantasy of building bleachers,” Stefani said about her initial wedding plans. “It got smaller and smaller, and you know, the Lord works in mysterious way. It was the perfect amount of people. It was so intimate. It was so exactly what it needed to be.”
Stefani then opened up about what her and Shelton’s first year of marriage has been like. “The marriage is so so fun, and I’m so into it,” she gushed. “And I feel very blessed.”
Calling Shelton her “best friend,” Stefani said he’s “so much fun” to be with. She says they’ve spent lots of time working on their land, telling DeGeneres that Shelton was “literally on the tractor” at that exact moment “turning dirt” for her.
Shelton proudly showcased the work he was doing back home in Oklahoma while Stefani was in California. He shared a video showing a tractor working on his land. He ran alongside it excitedly yelling “We’re farming!”
