Back in 1978, Don Williams was one of the nominated country artists for “Male Vocalist of the Year,” along with Larry Gatlin, Ronnie Milsap, Willie Nelson, and Kenny Rogers at the Country Music Association Awards. The presenter was Dolly Parton.
He won the award. People were cheering so loud. His wife was so shocked and proud. She even shed tears while Williams was delivering his speech.
