Coal Miner’s Daughter – Loretta Lynn

Loretta Lynn

Growing up in small-town Kentucky, Loretta Lynn was always proud of her father, a hard-working coal miner — so much so, in fact, that when she began her own career as a musician, she knew she wanted to honor his. In 1969, Lynn released a track called “Coal Miner’s Daughter,” all about her rural upbringing with seven siblings and a house full of love, thanks to her father. And the rest is history. Since then, Coal Miner’s Daughter has been used as the title of Lynn’s 1976 autobiography and the award-winning film about her life released in 1980, not to mention become Lynn’s official nickname.
