45 years after his debut album H-e-e-ere’s Johnny! was released, Johnny Lee is still performing for live audiences. In fact, he even released a new album last year titled Everything’s Gonna Be Alright. He celebrated the album, as well as being able to get back on the road, on his Facebook page in December 2021.
“It’s been a helluva year, folks. From releasing a new record, ‘Everything’s Gonna Be Alright’, to getting back on the road and playing all across the country, I want to thank each and every one of you for the overwhelming amount of support I’ve received this year,” he wrote.
On Friday (Jan. 28), Lee performed in Granbury, Texas where, apparently, people had begun accusing him of being drunk on stage. That is far from the truth, though.
Taking to his official Facebook page, someone from Lee’s team said, “To all of the people who are saying my brother Johnny Lee was drunk in Granbury, Texas on Friday, shame on you. I wish he would announce to every audience that he has Parkinsons [sic] but he is a private person. Think before you spread info you know NOTHING about.”
According to the National Institute on Aging, Parkinson’s Disease “is a brain disorder that leads to shaking, stiffness, and difficulty with walking, balance, and coordination.”
We can’t imagine what it must be like to go through something like this in the public eye. We wish Johnny and his family nothing but the best.
